Around Dhaulagiri is a challenging trek around the Dhaulagiri massif (8,167m/26,745ft), the sixth highest mountain in the world, involves snow and glacier walking. This is the perfect trip those who want a more intense experience of the mountains. You will be trekking deep into the Dhaulagiri Himal to the Italian Base Camp and Dhaulagiri north base camp, offering a wonderful view of gigantic north face of Dhaulagiri I. You will cross two high passes, the French pass (5,240m/17,192ft) and Thapa pass (5,155m/16,913ft) providing more spectacular views of Dhaulagiri, Throng peak, Annapurna and Kali Gandaki River; the world deepest gorge. You may encounter semi -wild yak herds, mountain sheep or the elusive snow leopard in the remote valleys of this region. Around Dhaulagiri trek begin in the antique city of Kathmandu; from where you will board a bus to Beni, you will spend the first few days of your trek walking through cultivated fields connected to some of the mountain villages while enjoying the shops, teahouses, and lifestyle of the Gurung, Chhetri, and Magar people. During these days you will walk along cobblestone paths, over suspension bridges and through dense forests, enjoying the vistas of some of the worlds most beautiful mountains. The climb begins to get tougher after Dobang, as you ascend to the Italian Base Camp with impressive views of Dhaulagiri I, II, III, IV& V; taking a day to rest, acclimatize, explore and fully absorb the beauty of surrounding peaks.
You will then make your way to Dhaulagiri North Base Camp. The trek then continues on to the Iced French and Thapa Passes which have to be scaled before you descend down a winding trail to Yak Kharka. Once again you will find yourself among mountain people and their villages. After long descend you will arrive in Marpha, popular city of Mustang district. You follow the Annapurna classical trek and pass the world’s deepest gorge. The hot springs at Tatopani offer an excellent retreat after a strenuous trek surrounded by the majestic peak of Annapurna and Machhapuchhare. From Tatopani you make your way back to Pokhara, visiting, on the way, several monasteries and sites of religious importance. Once in Pokhara you can enjoy nicely decorated pub and bar while looking back at this unforgettable experience.
Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu
Today is your arrival day. We welcome you upon your arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to Hotel in Kathmandu or anywhere in Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur). A city briefing concerning the necessary formalities on your tour and trek program ahead will follow. Depending upon your arrival time you may spend free time visiting nearby historic/Countryside areas or resting.
Day 02 Half Day Cultural Sightseeing in Pahupatinath, Boudha and Kapan
Half day cultural sightseeing in Pashupatinath, Boudha and Kapan World Heritage site where your guide will accompany you on a tour of UNESCO enlisted temples and unique fusion shrines of Newari architecture, reflecting a rare blend of Hinduism and Buddhism. There is enough time to explore the city’s many places of interest with your guide or on your own or simply take a rest. Our Trek Leader/Guide will meet you in the afternoon for trek briefing and final trek preparation. In the evening, sample a delicious traditional Nepali Welcome dinner in authentic Nepali Restaurant with the cultural dance performance and music. Private vehicle is there for you to pick up and drop in at your Hotel. Overnight Hotel stay in Kathmandu.
Day 03 Drive to Bhaktapur Half Day Sightseeing
We drive to Bhaktapur after the breakfast and start beautiful ancient city exploration with experienced Tour guide. We drive back to Hotel in Kathmandu.Afternoon onward free for the Trek Preparation.
Day 04 Flight to Pokhar / Drive to Beni (830m)
Fly to Pokhara (30 minutes) in the Morning and drive 82km (4 hrs) to Beni. Beni is a Headquarter of Baglung District situated in the bank of rapiding Kaligandaki River. It is originated from the Dhaulagir Icefall making the deepest gorge of Nepal and the world.It is very famous for two days white rafting to Pokhara. we start the Around Dhaulagiri Trip a bit furthere west from Beni. Day 05 Babichoaur (950m)
Trek 18km (6.5 hrs) to Babichoaur, getting a glimpse of the middle hills of Nepal. The trail follows the Myagdi Khola (river) and passes by terraced fields and villages. Some of the houses in these villages are painted red with black windows and doors, indicating a typical Hindu house. The last three hours of the trek is on relatively flat terrain. Overnight Camping
Day 06 Dharapani (1,500m)
This 12km (7 hrs) trek continues along the Myagdi Khola to Darbang Village, where we cross over to the west bank of the river. Shortly after crossing we begin our 2.5 hour steep ascent to the ridge, where we can see Mt. Myagumath (6,273m/20,638ft) and Mt. Jirbang (6,062m/19,944ft). Overnight Camping
Day 07 Muri (1,815m)
The trek to Muri is 12km/6.5 hrs. From Dharapani to Sibang it is for the most part a gradual ascent, with intermittent short but steep ascents. In the wet season the trail descends to Dara Khola and gradually climbs on the other side of the river before reaching Muri, a congested village consisting of wicker-work houses. This area is inhabited by the Magar ethnic group, a mongoloid race of people who were formerly Buddhist practitioners. Soon after arrival in these mid hill regions they were persuaded to convert to Hinduism, but have maintained their original spoken language (tibeto-bermal). We will make camp above the village from where you can see Mt. Manapati (6,380m/20,990ft), Mt. Jirbang (6,062m/19,944ft), and a few peaks of the Dhaulagiri Massif including Gurja Himal (7,193m/23,665ft). Overnight Camping
Day 08 Boghara (2,080m)
The 10km (7.5 hrs) trek alternates between descent and ascent along the Muri and Myagdi Rivers with a relatively flat section at Naura Bhir (bhir is cliff). The trail changes dramatically at this point as we ascend a very treacherous and narrow section of the trail before descending on similar terrain to Boghara, the last village on this route. Day 09 Dobang (2,520m)
Trek 10km (6 hrs) to Dobang. The valley is narrow and deeply wedged between the peaks of Dhaulagiri massif and Mt. Manapathi. The trail first goes down and climbs to the ledge before it comes back to the river bed. We will pass through some thick woods with occasional clearings for cow-herding huts. From here the trek to Dobang is gradual. Overnight Camping
Day 10 Choriban (3,110m)
We trek 9km (4.5 hrs) along the Myagdi Khola through landslide prone areas and at times thick vegetation. Attention should be paid while we cross the rivers over the locally made wooden bridges. Overnight Camping
Day 11 Pakoban (3,585m)
Cross the Choriban River and than trek 8km (5hrs) over the high alpine meadows, with Dhaulagiri I (8,167m/26,869ft) looming in the east. We will go down a slippery and treacherous path where the glacier and the river join, so caution is a must! We will make camp on the other side of the river. The next three trekking days we will be walking through a perpetual snowline. Overnight Camping

Day 13 Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4,750m)
We begin our 13km (8 hrs) trek following the Myagdi River for 1.5 hours before it see-saws over the glacial moraine. As we trek across the glacier we will go over many boulders, avoiding the crevasses. Along the trail, we can see Tukuche Peak, Mukut Himal, Sita Chuchura and Dhaulagiri I. We will make our camp on the glacier. Overnight Camping
Day 14 Hidden Valley (5,180m)
The 9km (6.5hrs) trek to Hidden Valley, a very wide meadow where the Thakali people bring their yaks in the summer to graze, passes between Sita Chuchura and Tukuche Peak. After the first hour of trekking we will climb for 30 minutes to the top of the ridge. Atop the ridge the French pass (5,360m/17,634ft) can be seen on the other side of the snow covered slope. Once on the pass we can get spectacular views of Hidden Valley surrounded by an ampitheater of peaks including Dhampus peak (6,035m/19,855ft), Tukuche (6,920m/22,767ft) and Dhaulagiri I (8,167m/26,869ft).

Day 15 Yak Kharka (3,680m)
We will leave by 5:00AM to begin our 14km (6hrs) trek to cross Dhampus Pass (5,258m/17,299ft) before sunrise. The view of the entire Annapurna Range being touched by the sun with the valley resting below in the darkness is amazing.

Day 16 Marpha (2,667m)
From Yak Kharka we descend 8km (6 hrs) along the flank of the mountain to once again reach civilization. We return to the tree-line, terraced potato and buckwheat fields, and farmhouses. Marpha is famous for its apple orchards and is home to two lovely Tibetan Monasteries (Solmi and Rinjin Gompa). This will be the last night with all of our crew so we will have a celebration to end our journey together. Overnight in lodge
Day 17 Jomsom (2,700 m)
Today is by far the easiest of our trekking days. We will leave at leisure to trek the 6km (2 hrs) to Jomsom, and will spend the rest of the day relaxing. Overnight in lodge
Day 18 Fly to Pokhara
Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara in the early morning and spend the rest of the day exploring Pokhara or relaxing.Overnight in Hotel.
Day 19 Leisure in Pokhara
Today is a rest day in this lovely lakeside town. You can go paddling on the lake or take a visit to the Peace Temple which overlooks the lake.
Day 20 Flight to Kathmandu
After the Breakfast we drive to Domestic airport of Pokhara to Fly to Kathmandu. It’s a short nearly 25 minutes flight with Budha air offers you scenic and stunning Mountain flight to Kathmandu. We meet you at Kathmandu airport to transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu. You have rest of the day free or can join one of our guided Cultural tours around Kathmandu valley.
Day 21 Leisure in Kathmandu
Leisure Time in Kathmandu. It’s indeed time for the souvenir hunting around Kathmandu’s noted places having optional trip to tranquil historic Heritages in your own or with us or with our versatile guide. We provide extra drive and drop services anywhere.
Day 22 Departure Kathmandu
Our Tour officer meets you in Hotel for the Departure Transfer to Kathmandu’s International Airport. We will be always welcoming you back to Nepal for various other stunning Trekkings or looking forward to serving you in our other country travel arrangements.
