Dakshinkali Tempke and Kirtipur Day Tour is a fun and insightful day tour. Dakshinkali temple is one of the most popular in Kathmandu valley. This temple is dedicated to the goddess “Kali” (wife of lord Shiva) situated south of Kathmandu valley. This temple receives thousands of devotees twice a week, Thursday and Saturday. This temple is very famous for animal sacrifice Cock, Duck, Goat, Sheep, Water buffalo are main animals and birds sacrifice in this temple premises. Non Hindus are not allowed to enter this temple but can enjoy the way of worship, sacrifice and taking pictures in this temple from distance. This temple is in bottom of the mountain, on the way to temple there is lots of small shops selling flower, color, coconut and many items for offering purpose. Saturday is main day to worship this temple. Due to weekend also many devotees come this day for blessing and good luck. On the way to Dakshinkali temple in right hand side there is another ancient Hindu temple called Shesh Narayan dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It was built in the time of Lichhavi period in third century. The place is very pleasant and beautiful having clean pound with lots of gold fishes.
Kirtipur is also located in the south of Kathmandu valley. It’s a Newar old city and best place to see the Newari life style and culture. Three storied Bhairab temple which is holy to Hindu and Buddhist, three storied Uma Maheshwar, Chilanchu Vihar and many more are the attraction of Kirtipur.
