Mera peak climbing (6,476m/ 22,242ft) Nepal is an exciting, scenically stunning Mountain top. Mera peak is popular among trekkers and the highest trekking peak in Nepal at eastern part of Everest Khumbu valley. Climbing Mera peak is an opportunity to all the experience trekkers and amateur climbers who dreams & dare to stand on the Himalayan summit with a sense of great life time achievement. Lifting the eyes from Mera peak summit and keep on lifting them until, above the clouds, the mighty frieze of the world’s 8000 meter Mountains- mount Everest, mount Kanchenjunga, mt Makalu, mt Lhotse, mt Cho-Oyu and many other 7000 meters peak and trekking peaks is an unforgettable experience. Mera Peak climbing begins after a short and exciting flight to the mountain airstrip at Lukla and continues through the high and lovely Valleys. Although physically very demanding on account of the altitude, the climb to Mera Peak is not technically difficult, ascending snow slopes that rarely exceed 30 degrees. Mera peak itinerary has been carefully designed to allow for gradual acclimatization. The walking initially through the virgin forest of the Hinku Valley is incredibly beautiful and provides excellent acclimatization for the peak itself. Detail itinerary
Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Today is your arrival day. We welcome you upon your arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu or your choice of Hotel anywhere in Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur). After hotel check in, a short briefing follow about your tour and trek program ahead. Depending upon your arrival time you may spend free time visiting nearby historic/countryside areas or resting.
Day 02- Half Day World Heritage Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Half day sightseeing in Kathmandu World Heritage sites wherein your guide accompany you on a tour of UNESCO enlisted temples and palaces, that are a unique fusion of Newari architecture, Hinduism and Buddhism. There is enough time to explore the city’s major places of interest with your guide and at your own pace. Our Trek Leader/Guide meets you in the afternoon for trek briefing and for the final trek preparation. In the evening sample a delicious traditional Nepali welcome dinner in an authentic Nepali Restaurant with cultural dances. Private vehicle is there for you to pick up from and drop in your Hotel. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 03: Rock Climbing Course in Kathmandu
You be taken to 3 Km drive to the place called Balaju, a natural rock climbing spot for your climbing course before departure to Lukla, a day course provide excellent opportunities to learn how to use rope, harness, Ice axe, crampons to keeps you more physically and mentally Prepared. Alternatively you can take a world heritage sightseeing for 3 places as desired inside Kathmandu valley. In the late afternoon we’ll brief and discuss again about trip and the preparation. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 04: Flight to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft) & trek to Chutanga (3,450m/11,320ft)
This morning you’ll be transferred to domestic airport and fly to Lukla. It takes 40 minutes scenic flight up to small airstrip to Tenjing-Hillary airport, Lukla and experience your first breakfasts in the mountain whilst the Himalayan Eco Treks and Travel team organizing porters, the guide sorting and dividing the load of baggages to be carried by porters. Then We start our first day trek ahead with an easy day through the woodland above Lukla. A good trail leads through pasture to the edge of a diminishing forest of rhododendron and pine which clothes the steep hillsides above Lukla. We make steady progress on a good trail, crossing ridges and streams up to ‘kharka’ meadow of yaks and Naks where we’ll stop for overnight at camp at Chutanga.
Day 05: Acclimatization day at Chutanga
This morning after a Himalayan breakfast at the camp we’ll have full day leisure at camp after a site excursion walking up to a small grassy peak below the Zetra Teng la Pass reaching an altitude of (4,000m/13,120ft). There are excellent views out over the valley of the DudhKosi ( milky River) and the views of our route towards the Zetra La. We stroll back to our camp at Chutanga for the overnight.
Day 06: Trek to Tuli Kharka (4,250m/13,944ft) via Zetra Teng La
To pass (4,600m/15,093ft) After a rest/acclimatization day at Chutanga we continue a long day walk around 6-7 hours crossing the Kalo Himal Ridge that separates the Khumbu from the Hinku valley that lead across this ridge Zetra La, traversing to the right and finally descending steeply to Tuli Kharka (big pasture) where there are several basic lodges. We set up our camp farther the lodges. Remaining time rest, read, playing cards and relax at the camp after a long walk before we retire into the cosy tent after multi course fresh dinner which continue.
Day 07: Trek to Gothey (3600m/11,812ft)
Today, after a breakfast we continue our journey descending to Hinku valley of Gothey. This is a good place to camp and there are several teahouses around and you can visit and learn the local lifestyle in the free time after the day end. Camp near by the teashops.
Day 08: Trek to Thagnag (4,350m/14,272ft)
Today is another short day as you trek in the shadow of Mera Himal along the ridge of the Hinku Khola. The west bank of the Hinku Drangka northwards.We take lunch at Gondishung, a summer herders’ settlement. Beyond Gondishung we pass a 200 year-old Gompa built beneath a massive boulder, to burn some juniper at the shrine, an offering that just might ensure a successful ascend of Mera Peak. Thagnag is a summer grazing area with the simplest of lodges and shops starting to develop.Overnight in Thagnag.
Day 09: Acclimatization day at Thagnag
An acclimatization day is essential here. It is in a superb setting surrounded by stunning peaks. There is a huge moraine in the north of Thagnag where a beautiful glacial lake, Sabal Tsho is dammed which is definitely worth a visit. A cairn (5,270m/17,290ft) on the flanks of Kusum Kangguru can also be rewarding and beneficial for acclimatization. Our climbing Sherpa also provide you training course for the climbing.
Day 10: Trek to Khare (5,025m/16,486ft)
Today we are heading up from Thagnag towards the Mera Base camp at Khare. We follow the lateral moraine of Dig Glacier to Dig Kharka, which offers spectacular views of Charpate Himal. The trail climbs through moraines and to the snout of the Hinku Nup and Shar Glaciers and then climbs more steeply to your camping spot at Khare after 3-4 hrs walk.
Day 11: Ice climbing practice near Khare
This morning after a breakfast, we prepare our gear for ice climbing (This may depends on season and availabilities of Ice if ice not available then we just hike around or rest) – just above the Khare we need to walk couple of hrs from where there is a good view of the Mera La and the route up the mountain. This also be a time for practicing few hrs Ice climbing and our climbing leader teach you who be also instructing you about the climbing. After few hrs practicing at glacier, stroll back to camp and final preparation of our equipment and packing of our mountain bags. Overnight in the Camp.
Day 12: Trek to Mera base camp (5,350m/17,552ft)
A very short trek allowing for much acclimatization and a day walk make your way to Mera Base Camp. We first climb to the crest of the moraine above Khare and then up a steep slope of scree /snow to reach a boulder strewn bowl below the lower tongue of the Mera Glacier. Reaching the pass Mera La (5,415m/17,766ft) allows us to see spectacular views.We then descend 100m (328ft) towards the Hongu side and set up base camp in the moraine below the ice.We camp in Mera Base Camp tonight.
Day 13: Climb to Mera high camp (5,750m/18,865ft)
Making your way to Mera High Camp can be hazardous if it has recently snowed, as there are/ be a number of crevasses . We take of crevasses. You make your way to the top of the rock band, which is marked by a large cairn. You set up a high camp and from here the views are outstanding, with Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu and more piercing the skyline. This evening we camp in Mera High Camp at the height of 5750 m.
Day 14: Summit day and descend to Khare
This is a big day, we wake up at 2.30 am around and after a breakfast, the group put on crampons and rope up before setting out for the summit. From the high camp a well acclimatized party take 3 – 4 hours to the central summit of Mera peak. If time and conditions permit we may opt to make the traverse to the slightly higher north summit. This excursion adds 2 -3 hours to the day is of a more technical nature than the rest of the climb and the decision as to whether we attempt this be taken by the trip leader. From the summit we can see the magnificent views of Mt. Everest (8,848m/29,029ft), Cho-Oyu (8,201m/26,906ft), Lhotse (8,516m/27,940ft), Makalu (8,463m/27,766ft), Kangchenjunga (8,586m/28,169ft), Nuptse (7,855m/25,770ft), Lobuche (6,145m/20,160ft), Chamlang (7,319m/24,013ft). Having had the life time adventure climbing and the views, we retrace our steps to Khare with a rest and some hot soup at high camp on the way down. A long but inspirational evening at Khare camp.
Day 15: Reserve day for unforeseen condition
This day we must keep for the reserve day for the unforeseen condition as weather problem or weakness which you can take as your rest day or recovering day .
Day 16: Return back to Gothey
After the great success of the expedition to Mt. Mera we descend to Hinku valley to Gothey for our overnight stop at camp. Enjoy the evening with local wine or whatever you want to relax at the camp.
Day 17: Trek to Tuli Kharka
Today, we again climb up through the lush forest on the west side of the Hinku Valley to Tuli Kharka below the Zetra La where we’ll stay overnight at camp
Day 18: Trek back to Lukla via crossing Zetra la
Today, we have a last day of the trek. We start to climbing up to cross Zetra La top which be our last climb of the trip. After the top we descend down to Lukla village where we concludes the trekking peak climb. Enjoy with crews at the last day dinner in the mountain with beverages. Overnight in the lodge.
Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu
The flight time to Kathmandu, are schedule for morning normally, because of the wind in the afternoon, sometime the flight time can be delayed due to bad weather and other reason beyond our limit. We fly back to Kathmandu. Our vehicle be in the airport to welcome you back and transfer to hotel. You may have time to relax after long journey and take back your breath.
Day 20: Leisure at Kathmandu
This pleasant day you may have full day at leisure at your own or can be extended to your extra trip with us on additional cost or time to explore the Thamel for last day shopping. We meet in the evening for the company for the farewell dinner. Overnight in hotel.

Day 21 Kathmandu to Pokhara Flight
Our tour officer pick you up in the Hotel to drive to Domestic airport after breakfast. We take 30 minutes scenic flight to Pokhara, a naturally beautiful city located about 200 km west of Kathmandu where you having great time and fun in close to Himalayan Mountains.
Once you arrive in Pokhara Airport, our guide receives you to transfer to the Hotel. Having hotel check in finalised our guide take you all for sightseeing around Pokhara. Pokhara has Mountain Mueseum, Davis falls, Mahendra Cave and Boating in the Lake Phewa in the afternoon.
Day 22 – Pokhara- to Charaundi – Start Rafting
Having had the breakfast we then take you to Charaundi east towards Kathmandu nearly three hours drive to start Rafting where our crews be waiting for you to start the exciting raft to Kuringhat. On the first day you have exciting raft briefing by your captain to raft nearly three hours experiencing white water rapids like Twins rock, upset, s –band, Ladies delights etc along with the accommodation in the River bank with the excellent cuisine prepared by our rafting crew.
Day 23 – End Raft/ Drive to ChitwanNational Park/ Start Jungle Safa
Today we pick you up from Gaighat to the ChitwanNational Park where you start the Jungle exploration that includes Elephant riding, National park briefing and slide show followed by typical Tharu Cultural Dance. ( Tharus are the aborigines of the area).
Day 24 – Continue Jungle Safari
You start the jungle safari from early Morning as per the schedule of the Jungle resort having the break for the meals in between the scheduled Jungle Safari Activities. Nature walking, Canyoing, Elephant bathing, Elephant cookies serving, Bird Watching are the regular in schedule.
Day 25 – Drive / flight back to Kathmandu
After the Breakfast we drive to Domestic airport of Chitwan to Fly to Kathmandu. It’s a short nearly 25 minutes flight with Budha air offers you scenic and stunning Mountain flight to Kathmandu. We meet you at Kathmandu airport to transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu. You have rest of the day free or can join one of our guided Cultural tour around Kathmandu valley.
Day 26: Departure from Kathmandu
Our Tour officer meets you in Hotel for the Departure Transfer to Kathmandu’s International Airport. We be always welcoming you back to Nepal for various other stunning Trekkings or looking forward to serving you in our other country travel arrangements.
